Trinity Guildhall

Trinity Guildhall is part of Trinity College London, a leading international examinations board that conducts over half a million assessments each year in over 60 countries worldwide. We provide recognition of musical performance through accredited Grade, Certificate and Diploma qualifications in all instruments and voice.

Our Keyboard, Organ & Accordion Syllabus 2007-2010 is available to download from the Trinity Guildhall website and accompanying repertoire books , CDs and supporting publications are available to order from your local music shop or our online store .

Encouraging Individuality in Performance

Encouraging and developing individuality in performance is at the heart of all our examinations with music syllabuses that offer flexibility and choice within a wide-ranging, structured and progressive framework. They support a variety of learning and teaching styles and allow candidates to build on and develop their strengths.

Extensive Choice and Flexibility

The choice of repertoire is extensive – more than any other examination board - and developed in collaboration with teachers, examiners, students and specialist consultants worldwide. Classic choices to more popular, experimental or modern pieces gives candidates the flexibility to select the genre of music they themselves enjoy and want to play, keeping them engaged and motivated.

The options available in the supporting tests and technical work enable candidates to demonstrate their genuine musical understanding and performance skills rather than learned responses in their exam.

Whilst Trinity Guildhall advises and endorses the study of Music Theory, there is no requirement of a theory prerequisite for any practical graded examination and no sight reading requirement up to Grade 5.

Professional Expertise

All Trinity Guildhall music examiners are music professionals who undergo a rigorous selection, monitoring and support programme, including a mandatory annual three-day training and standardisation conference. They're approachable, warm and friendly to help candidate's overcome any exam nerves and perform to their best.

Recognition

Trinity Guildhall examinations are internationally recognised and fully accredited by Ofqual and other education bodies in a number of countries around the world. They are also eligible for UCAS points (Grades 6 to 8) for candidates applying to UK colleges and universities.
